Welcoming Wakaru!
WAKARU (b. 1991) is a Japanese illustrator and artist. Featuring simple but intricate linework, WAKARU’s art is instantly recognizable with the iconic smiling expressions of human figures and their animal-like companions.
WAKARU also provides illustrations for print advertisements, books, as well as digital media, her books include Smile, I want to go home early today, and A book to praise you when you are tired.
In recent years, WAKARU has exhibited her work in Hong Kong, London, Spain, Korea, and other countries.
Toyol will be showcasing Wakaru’s works at our group exhibition at Major Pop entitled “Days of Domesticity” (29 Aug - 9 Sep 2024)
