Welcoming Fajar Amali!
Fajar Amali (b. 1992), known among art enthusiasts for consistently exploring his deep interest in anthropology and the concept of time, creates distinctive artworks which feature dystopian visuals and robotic figures.
Inspired by Shakespeare and titled Thy Eternal Summer Shall Not Fade, Fajar’s first solo exhibition showcases the simplicity and directness of his works as complex and cathartic poetic expressions.
In previous works, he incorporated popular figures as a statement of generational context, which influenced his understanding of cultural references and use of visual language. For his latest series, Fajar adopts the impressionist philosophy of light, and focuses on symbolisms and semiotics such as flowers and bright colors.
Toyol will be showcasing Fajar Amali’s works at our group exhibition at Major Pop entitled “Days of Domesticity” (29 Aug - 9 Sep 2024)
